Summary

A small gravel pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on Black Hill, Verwood. A greatly expanded pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946, it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

A small gravel pit is marked on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition map on Black Hill, Verwood (1). A greatly expanded pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 (2), it was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The site is now under modern housing (3).
