Summary

A large gravel pit shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map on Redman's Hill. On this map it is described as 'Old Gravel Pit' at the northern end, and 'Gravel Pit' at the southern end. The extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. Smaller gravel workings lie to the north east.

Full Description

A large gravel pit shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map on Redman's Hill (1). On this map it is described as 'Old Gravel Pit' at the northern end, and 'Gravel Pit' at the southern end. The extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP (2-3). Smaller gravel workings lie to the north east.
