Full Description
A series of narrow ditched linears on Sopley Common are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The features are broadly northwest to southeast aligned and are probably post medieval trackways or droveways across the open heath. Alternatively, some may have an early 20th century miltary origin.
Many of the linear trackways are still visible on current Google Earth imagery (2).
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
