Full Description
Ditched linear boundaries to the southeast of Tole Cottage, Sopley, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The features are likely to be field boundaries of post medieval in origin, although an earlier date is also possible. In common with other field boundaries along this section of the west bank of the River Avon, the boundaries may also have been in the form of banked drainage channels.
The features are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery. They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
