Summary

A series of parallel linear ditched features in a field to the east of Dayman`s Wood, Hurn, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are probably associated with a drainage system of post medieval origin. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A series of parallel linear ditched features in a field to the east of Dayman`s Wood, Hurn, are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The linears are contained on their east side by a historic ditched field boundary of probable post medieval origin (see MDO39701) and are probably associated with a post medieval drainage system.

The features are still faintly visible on current Google Earth imagery and were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
