A post medieval extractive pit on Sopley Common is visible on current Lidar imagery (1).

The pit is located on the east side of Pithouse Lane and is shown as a gravel pit on the OS 1st Edn map (2).

The extractive pit is under tree cover and not visible on current Google Earth imagery.

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
