Full Description
A banked slightly curvilinear earthwork on Rams Down is visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1). The earthwork measures around 46.5m across and has no visible boundary on its eastern side. It encloses a Bronze Age barrow (MDO8797) but is probably later in origin, possibly a woodland or agricultural enclosure of post medieval or early 20th century date.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
The enlosure is still visible on a 2005 vertical aerial photograph (2) and on current Google Earth imagery.
