Full Description

Historic ditched field boundaries to the northeast of Hurn Court Farm are visible on 1940s aerial photographs or as cropmarks on a 2005 aerial photograph (1 and 2).

The field boundaries are narrow ditched linears, largely straight and rectilinear in form. They broadly align with the historic field pattern, with some showing as disused boundaries on the OS 1st Edition map, marked only by a few trees along their length (3).They are most likely to be medieval or post medieval in origin.

The features were visible as cropmarks in 2005 but the fields are shown to be increasingly under development on Google Earth imagery of 2007-2009 (4).

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
