Full Description
Historic ditched field boundaries to the north of Hurn Court are visible as cropmarks on a 2005 aerial photograph (1).
The field boundaries are narrow ditched linears, largely straigh and rectilinear in form. Two long straight boundaries in the centre of the group align with the historic field pattern and are likely to be post medieval or earlier in origin. Others are aligned counter to the historic field pattern and angled to create possible enclosures within the larger historic fields. The date of these shorter and angled linears is not certain. They are most likely to be post medieval in date but earlier or later origins are also possible.
The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
