Summary

A series of ditched drainage channels in fields to the south of Hurn Court are visible on current Lidar imagery. These are considered likely to be post medieval in origin, although a later date is also possible. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

A series of ditched drainage channels in fields to the south of Hurn Court are visible on 1940s aerial photographs. These comprise both herringbone pattern and longer straight linear ditches and are considered likely to be post medieval in origin, although a later date is also possible (1).

The ditched features are clearly visible under pasture on Google Earth imagery of 2012 (2). They were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
