Summary

A series of post medieval extractive pits in fields to the northeast of Berry Hill, Bournemouth, are visible on current Lidar imagery. These may be associated with post medieval gravel extraction along the river terraces of the River Stour. The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.

A series of post medieval extractive pits in fields to the northeast of Berry Hill, Bournemouth, are visible on current Lidar imagery (1). These may be associated with post medieval gravel extraction along the river terraces of the River Stour.

The features are visible as water filled depressions on 2012 Google Earth imagery (2).

The features were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
