Full Description
A post medieval extractive pit at Fillybrook Bottom is visible on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Lidar imagery (1 and 2).
The extractive pit is broadly oval in form and roughly 43m by 38m in size. It shows on current Lidar imagery (2) and its eastern edge is visible on a 1946 aerial photograph (1), the main extent being below trees at this time.
The site remains under dense tree cover on current Google Earth imagery (3). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
