Full Description
A series of post medieval or modern banked and ditched field boundaries on Week Common are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The field boundaries are typically straight and rectilinear in form and aligned southwest to northeast. They are considered likely to represent later post medieval or modern enclosure of the common. The historic field boundaries edging the common are more curvilinear in form and on a slightly different alignment.
The boundaries are still visible as low banked earthworks on current Google Earth imagery and were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP. (2).
