Full Description
A series of historic or modern trackways on Barnfield Heath are visible on 1940s aerial photographs (1).
The trackways may be associated with wider wartime military activity on the heathland north of Christchurch. Alternatively they may be medieval or post medieval trackways or droveways.
The trackways were sited on open heathland in 1949, at which time some appeared disused (1). They are no longer visible on current Google Earth imagery.
The trackways were digitally plotted by the Dorset Stour NMP.
