Full Description
One of several mounds visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 on Alderholt Common. Possible site of a medieval or later pillow mound. This is the largest of the mounds being `T`shaped, It`s longest axis is 115m long including a circular mound 11m across at it`s southeastern end. It is flanked on all sides by a ditch.The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP. The site has since been ploughed (2) and the features are no longer visible on recent digital imagery (3).
