Please read our .

Summary

Archaeology works carried out in 2014 prior to trench excavation for the laying of multiple service ducts removed a World War Two concrete base, measuring 0.25m deep. This was previously thought to be an anti-tank barrier post but was re-interpreted as part of a small arms protection barrier with the aid of late/post-war aerial photographs.
