Summary

A hotel designed by L Stewart Smith and built in 1937 of reinforced concrete using the Mouchel/Hennebique system by Truscon Ltd. Later additions include a ballroom around 1960. A notable feature of the interior is a 'diagrid' concrete ceiling spanning the dining and dance hall.
