Summary

Two small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 on Lions Hill, to the west of Ashley Heath. The features are considered likely to be of post medieval or early 20th century date; probably extractive pits. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.

Full Description

Two small hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1945 on Lions Hill, to the west of Ashley Heath (1). The features are considered likely to be of post medieval or early 20th century date; probably extractive pits. The area is under scrubby heathland on recent aerial photographs. The site is no longer visible but no accessment could be made as the the current condition of the monument. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Stour NMP.
