Summary
A pier 'neck' or entrance building built 1958-60 by Bournemouth Borough Engineer's Department. The building is of reinforced concrete on a bastion encased in rough natural stone. The bastion and piers support a concrete slab at the front, level with the adjacent roadway. The curved building has a kiosk at each side of the entrance to the pier, and incorporates public toilets and shelters. It is decorated with blue and cream tiles.
