Full Description
An historic ditched field boundary to the west of Stoke Knapp Farm, Stoke Abbott, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and (2). It is straight and rectilinear in form and appears to sub divide a larger enclosure of possible medieval origin. This may indicate a post medieval origin, although an earlier date is also possible. The boundary is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
