Full Description
A series of undated earthworks or mounds to the south of Fir Farm, Burstock and Broadwindsor, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and 1970s (2). The earthworks are sinuous and curvilinear in form and extend to around 170m in length. They cross a number of fields where they appear clearly overlain by post medieval field boundaries. Their date and function are unknown but it is likely that they are of natural origin. They are still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3), with the westernmost end now partly reused as a modern field boundary. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
