Full Description
Several units of narrow cultivation marks to the south of Common Farm, Burstock, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1). The narrow 4m width of the ridges indicate a probable post medieval origin, although they may be the result of late 19th to early 20th century steam ploughing. The marks are still faintly visible in places on an aerial photograph taken in 1971 (2) but are not so evident on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
