Summary

Three units of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow with associated field boundaries, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the north east of Cards Mill Farm. The units are ruler straight and may be the result of 19th century steam ploughing although a 20th century origin is possible. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

Three units of post medieval narrow ridge and furrow with associated field boundaries, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the north east of Cards Mill Farm (1). The units are ruler straight and may be the result of 19th century steam ploughing. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The site has been plough-levelled and the ridging is no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
