Full Description
Several units of medieval or later narrow ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the south of Whitchurch Canonicorum. Some of the ridges are curved and therefore clearly not the result of 19th century steam ploughing, an earlier post medieval or even medieval origin is possible. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. Some of the ridging is still extant on recent lidar imagery (2).
