Full Description
A distinct linear scarp is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 (1), to the south of Little Pitt Coppice, Pitt Farm, Whitchurch Canonicorum. It runs northwest-southeast for over 200m cutting across two modern fields. It is possibly a field boundary or trackway of medieval or post medieval date but a natural origin cannot be ruled out. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP, it is still visible as an extant earthwork on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
