Full Description
An oblong hollow, 12m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 on the west side of Conegar Hill (1). It is considered likely to be an historic extractive pit. An associated cresent-shaped mounds lies 35m to the west of the hollow. The features immediately adjacent to the circular mound described in MDO38917 which may be an historic rabbit warren or Bronze Age round barrow . The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.It has since been levelled and is no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
