Full Description
A possible post medieval extractive pit to the south of Blackenfields Farm, Broadwindsor, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). The site potentially extends over 185m in length, with two parallel scarps or lynchets at its western end. The site potentially forms one of a series of extractive pits in the vicinity, but it may also be partly natural geology. The potential quarrying appears overlain by later historic field boundaries (MDO38806 ). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
