Full Description

A circular area of tightly packed inferior oolite stone rubble, about two metres in diameter was found immediately on top of the clay natural during trial excavations by the Shaftesbury and District Archaeological Group during July 1984. This feature is of unknown function or date, though a sparse scatter of prehistoric and Roman pottery was found in the vicinity.
