Full Description
An area of ridge and furrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the south east of Great Coombe Farm (1). The ridges are very wide (6-8m across) and therefore they are potentially of medieval origin although a later post medieval (or even 20th century) origin cannot be ruled out. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The site has been plough-levelled and the ridging is no longer visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
