Full Description
An extensive bank and ditched field system of medieval or later date is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 in the vicinity of Great Coombe Farm (1). The features cover an area of 240 hectares; they were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The site has been partially plough-levelled and only faint traces remain visible on recent Google Earth imagery (2). The field system is associated with small areas of cultivation described separately in MDO38776 and MDO38778.
