Monument record MDO38775 - Post medieval orchards, Sheepwash Farm, Whitchurch Canonicorum

Two areas of ridge and furrow are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the east of Sheepwash Farm. They lie within two parcels of land marked as orchards on the OS 1st edition map. The features are considered to be post medieval plantation ridging associated with the orchards, they were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

The features are considered to be post medieval plantation ridging associated with the orchards, they were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. The site has been plough-levelled although faint traces of the ridging is still visible on recent Google Earth imagery (3).
