Summary

Wide bank and ditched linear features are visible as cropmarks and very low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 abutting the south-eastern side of Coney's Castle hillfort. The features may relate a late phase of the hillfort or be of much later (or even natural) origin. The site was digitally plotted during the Masrhwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

Wide bank and ditched linear features are visible as cropmarks and very low earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948, abutting the southeastern side of Coney's Castle hillfort (1). The features may be ramparts relating to a late phase of the hillfort or be of much later (or even natural) origin. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
