Monument record MDO38754 - Post medieval quarrying, Coney's Castle, Whitchurch Canonicorum

Post medieval quarrying is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern side of Coney's Castle hillfort. The site is marked as a gravel pit on the OS 1st edition map; these workings have mutliated the Iron Age ramparts on this side. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP; it is still visible on recent Google Earth imagery and is now the site of a small car park (3).
