Monument record MDO38752 - Historic field boundaries, Grange Lodge, Burstock

Historic banked field boundaries to the northwest of Grange Lodge, Burstock, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s and on the latest Lidar imagery. Their form and alignment suggest a probable post medieval origin, although an earlier date is possible. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Historic banked field boundaries to the northwest of Grange Lodge, Burstock, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on the latest Lidar imagery (2). Their form and alignment suggest a probable post medieval origin, although they are located within a wider field pattern of probable medieval origin so an earlier date is possible. The boundaries are still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
