Full Description
A series of trackways are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 running across the ridge of Lambert's Castle Hill (1). The features run from the southern entrance of the hillfort and across the disused race course marked on the OS 1st edition map in an westerly direction, before meeting Fishpond Bottom Road. They are considered likely to be of medieval or later date. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. Some of the linear are still visible (and in use) on recent Google Earth imagery (2).
