Full Description
A small hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the south east of Higher Park Farm (1) It is 21m across and marked as a Old Chalk Pit on the OS 1st edition map (2). The feature is considered likely to be an extractive pit of post medieval origin. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP and is still visible as a low earthwork on recent Google Erath imagery (3).
