Full Description
Historic banked field boundaries to the west of Manor Farm,Burstock, are visible as earthworks on the latest Lidar imagery (1). They are located along the contour line of a northwest facing slope above a stream valley within enclosures probably associated with Burstock Manor and are potentially of medieval or post medieval origin, possibly relict medieval strip lynchets. The southernmost boundary is showing on the OS 1st Edition map (2) as a dotted line and trees, probably established on an earlier boundary feature. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
