Summary

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern side of Fishpond Bottom Road. It is marked as Pit (disused) on the OS 1:10,000 scale map but not on the 1st edition. The feature is 70m across and considered likely to be an extractive pit of late 19th or early 20th century origin. It was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs on the northern side of Fishpond Bottom Road (1). It is marked as Pit (disused) on the OS 1:10,000 scale map but not on the 1st edition. The feature is 70m across and considered likely to be an extractive pit of late 19th or early 20th century origin. It was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
