Two areas of post medieval quarrying are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 on the northern side of Wyld Warren, south of Wareham Cross <1>. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP The site is marked as an old gravel pit on the OS 1st edition map and is now under modern plantation, it is therefore no longer visible on more recent Google Earth imagery <2>.
