Full Description

An historic banked field boundary to the southwest of Childhay Manor Farm is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). Its straight rectilinear form suggests a probable post medieval date but as it is located within a wider enclosure of probable medieval origin an earlier date is possible. The boundary is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
