Summary

Three parallel banked linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the east of Rough Close. They are possibly the remains of a medieval strip field system although they may alternatively be of natural origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Three parallel banked linear features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the east of Rough Close (1). They are possibly the remains of a medieval strip field system although they may alternatively be of natural origin. The features were digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP, they are no longer visible being under trees on the most recent Google Earth imagery (2).
