Full Description
Historic banked and ditched field boundaries and lynchets to the east of the Temple Brook, east of Hurst Farm, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The rectilinear form of some of the boundaries suggests a possible post medieval origin, although an earlier date is possible. The curving lynchets may have a medieval origin as strip field boundaries although they now appear to have modern trackways following their line. The site is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
