The site of a small post medieval extractive pit is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1948 to the north of Smith's Farm Cottages (1). The feature is 10m across and was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP. It is still visible as an earthwork under scrub vegetation on Google Earth imagery (2).
