Full Description
Undated banked field boundaries to the north of Coombe Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1) and on a Lidar survey of 2010 (2). They survive as substantial earthworks and their broad nature and slightly curving form may indicate boundaries of medieval or later date, although an earlier date is possible. An aerial photograph of 1947 (1) suggests that there may have been some re-use of at least one of the boundaries during the early 20th century. The boundaries are clearly visible on vertical aerial photographs taken in 2009 (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
