Full Description
A unit of post medieval carrow ridge and furrow to the southwest of Lowdown Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s (1). The narrow cultivation marks (MDO) align with a north to south running historic field boundary (MDO38578), possibly extending beyond this to the west. Their form and alignment suggest a post medieval origin, although an early 20th century date is also possible. The cultivation marks are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
