Full Description
Historic banked and ditched field boundaries to the southwest of Swilletts Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of the 1940s and 1970s (1) and (2). They run parallel to each along the contour line, which may suggest strip field boundaries of medieval origin, although a later date is possible. The site is still visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (3). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
