Full Description

Two curvilinear banked field boundaries to the north of Templeman's Ash are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1970s (1). The boundaries are slightly irregular in form and potentially suggest later sub-division of an area of medieval enclosure, although potentially still of relatively early date. The easternmost boundary is overlain by a straight linear ditched feature (MDO38544), which indicates a post medieval or later boundary. There has been significant boundary removal within this area since the 1970s and these two boundaries are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
