Summary

Post medieval or later field boundaries to the west of Pilsdon Barn are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. The straight linear nature of these boundaries suggest a possible, and relatively short, phase of post medieval or early modern enclosure. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.

Full Description

Undated field boundaries to the west of Pilsdon Barn are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The straight linear nature of these boundaries suggest a possible, and relatively short, phase of post medieval or early modern enclosure. The boundaries are not shown on the OS First Edition historic mapping and are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
