Full Description
Undated field boundaries to the east of Revelshay Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The boundaries have a slightly curving morphology and align with adjacent boundaries that appear to form part of a field system of medieval origin, suggesting these boundaries may be contemporary in date. The narrow distance between the boundaries indicate a possible series of strip lynchets or strip field boundaries. The boundaries are still partially visible on aerial photographs taken in 2009 (2) and on the latest Google Earth imagery (3), although the current boundary lines have altered since the 1940s. The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
