Full Description
A system of probable post medieval ditched field boundaries and/or drainage ditches to the northeast of Revelshay Farm are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s (1). The east to west aligned boundaries conform with the current pattern of enclosure, which appears to sub divide an older agricultural landscape of probable early medieval or medieval origin. The field boundaries are mostly levelled by modern ploughing and (excepting the southernmost north to south aligned boundary) are no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery (2). The site was digitally plotted during the Marshwood Vale NMP.
